The term ‘bruschetta’ is in fact derived from the Tuscan verb ‘bruscare’ or ‘to toast’. Over time, new ingredients were added, such as fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, to arrive at the bruschetta as we know it today: a perfect combination of taste and simplicity suitable both as an aperitif and as a full meal.
